About Me

I have worked in mental health nursing, education and social care settings for a number of years, and have an understanding of the personal challenges individuals face on a daily basis.

On a personal level I have experienced a number of difficult situations in my life. For me these were bereavement, divorce, being a lone parent and redundancy.

Accessing counselling myself I am aware of how daunting it feels to let your defences down. The important thing to remember is therapy is all about you and you set the pace. Therapy gave me the opportunity to get a better understanding of myself, and to recognise that my challenges have strengthened and shaped me into the person I am today.

I have experience of working with a local cancer charity offering counselling to individuals whose lives have been affected by cancer. I also have experience of working with learners within an adult learning environment.

I am covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance and have an Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate with clearing from the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
